Graduating from Weber State University (Ogden, Utah) in 1992 was an exciting day for me. I couldn't wait to get started in a career that I was very passionate about!
I have taught preschool for 20 years. I have loved experiencing the joys of learning with each child. I have incorporated the philosophy of many educators. One of my favorites being the Reggio Emilia Approach. Each year I have dreamed of going to Reggio Emilia, Italy to participate in the study group and to actually see this innovative approach to education in action!
I never thought it was possible.
However a few month's ago I was able to go.
I can't even express the amazing experience I had! There were 400 participants from all over the world.
My love and passion for young children was ignited more then I ever thought it could be. I came home with a new dream and goals for taking this learning approach to even more students.
This year I'm expanding my school. I can't wait to introduce the new indoor environment; with a larger construction/architecture area, light tables, projection screens, and other audio visual materials.
I'm especially excited about offering the separate Atelier(artist workshop) and giving my students the opportunity to work with high quality and rich art materials everyday!
Our outdoor environment is also changing. We will have bridges, streams, bird watching platform, garden/plant house, climbing wall, water wall.
